Myrna was typecast as foreign/exotic characters, until her breakout in the Thin Man series with William Powell. A classic example of her exotic roles is in the '32 Mask of Fu Manchu with Boris Karloff, a pre code film full of racism and ethnic slurs. She is my favorite actress from the classic era.
