But fewer may be familiar with Princess Feodora of Leiningen – Victoria‘s beloved elder half-sister who was a vital source of support, affection and guidance throughout the queen‘s life.

They found a save heaven in Büdingen, Upper Hesse, where a sister of her husband lived. Only in 1991 she moved back to Gera. Now she lives in the South of Germany.

Her grandmother Elise was born a Princess zu Hohenlohe-Langenburg. Elise’s paternal grandmother was Princess Feodora zu Leiningen, whose mother was Princess Viktoria zu Sachsen-Coburg-Saalfeld (1786-1861).
