You would be correct. In the comics Shane dies in issue #6. That's roughly half the story equivalent of season 1 (comics issues 1-10/11), and not even really the whole thing. If the show had followed exactly what the comics did Shane would've been dead around episode 5 of season 1.
Shane is a horrible person and a terrible leader. But he’s a very well-written and acted character. He’s only in the first two seasons and yet he’s one of the most talked about characters. I think that says a lot about his character. I love to hate Shane.
Old news but Shane was right about Randall. Show Spoiler. I know this is very old news but I'm doing a rewatch and I hate how Shane was judged about Randall. It was so fucking dumb! Shoot him in the head so he isn't ripped apart, that would have been a kindness.
