The King and Queen and members of the Royal Family have gathered at Windsor Castle to celebrate the oldest and most senior Order of Chivalry, during a colourful event full of history and pageantry. The King, The Queen and members of the Royal Family are today attending a Garter Day service and ceremony at Windsor Castle.
17 de jun. de 2024 · New members are traditionally announced on St George’s Day, April 23rd, and the annual Order of the Garter Service is held at St. George’s Chapel, Windsor Castle on the Monday of Ascot Week in June. The day begins with the Sovereign formally investing any new Companions with the Order’s insignia in the Throne Room of the Castle.

17 de jun. de 2024 · After lunch the Knights and Ladies of the Garter, proceed from the Quadrangle at Windsor Castle down the hill to St George's Chapel for the annual Garter Service, watched by invited members of the public.
17 de jun. de 2024 · Garter Day traditionally takes place in June at St George's Chapel in Windsor - the wedding venue of the Duke and Duchess of Sussex - as St George is the Order's patron saint. It was not held in 2020 or 2021 due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
