9 de may. de 2024 · Glamis Castle has been open to the public since the Earl and Countess of Strathmore and Kinghorne (who live there) opened their doors. And, what a sight to see that’s only about 20 minutes from Dundee. For me, it’s easily one of the best castles in Scotland to explore, especially if you want to learn more about medieval Scotland.

Like many surviving Scottish castles, Glamis – just outside Forfar and 30 minutes from Dundee – has many tales to tell. For over 650 years (since 1372) it has been the ancestral seat to the Earls of Strathmore and Kinghorne.
