Hace 5 días · Beatrix Farrand, cousin of Thomas Newbold, was employed to design and implement the hardscape and garden between 1911 and 1912 as a Spring and Autumn seasonal family garden, privately enclosed but giving movement and inclusivity to outside wild plantings, trees, and the property beyond.

17 de may. de 2024 · Beatrix Farrand (June 19, 1872 – February 28, 1959) was responsible for designing the grounds of Princeton, Yale and many estate gardens, and assisted in plantings at the White House. Her masterpiece was Dumbarton Oaks, in the Georgetown section of Washington, DC.
27 de may. de 2024 · This rare iris was listed on Beatrix Farrand’s planting plans for the “pink and crimson” border. It is an early and prolific bloomer and a vigorous grower. It was first introduced in 1859 and was a favorite of the Victorians who considered it the first “pink” iris.
