Mr. Stone, a governor, to supplement the king's grant, left a legacy for the maintenance of a preliminary class of twelve boys, who were to be taught navigation. The "Twelves" wear a badge on the right shoulder, the king's boys wearing theirs on the left.

On behalf of the Council of Christ’s Hospital, I am delighted to announce that Matthew Judd, currently Head of Leighton Park School in Reading, Berkshire, will succeed Simon Reid as Head of Christ’s Hospital from September 2025.
Hace 3 días · Edward's burial place was unmarked until as late as 1966, when an inscribed stone was laid in the chapel floor by Christ's Hospital school to commemorate its founder. The inscription reads as follows: "In Memory Of King Edward VI Buried In This Chapel This Stone Was Placed Here By Christ's Hospital In Thanksgiving For Their Founder 7 October 1966".
