16 de may. de 2024 · In 1947 and 1948, Dean Benedetti, an amateur saxophonist living in California, made a series of recordings of Charlie Parker which were since lost. Decades later, Benedetti’s surviving brother contacted Mosaic records, informing them that the tapes of this engagement, considered lost, existed.

22 de may. de 2024 · “Ornithology” was composed by saxophonist Charlie Parker and trumpeter Benny Harris. It was first recorded during a famous Dial session on March 28, 1946. This was to be the first of more than 40 Parker recordings of “Ornithology” and was inducted into the Grammy Hall of Fame in 1989.
