Tuesday, Airfest’s Dave Larsen and Bruce Mathew gave La Crosse Talk PM the rundown of what to expect, including some new military performances that aren’t yet on the list and have never been part of the airshow, which has been going since 1998.
Hace 6 días · Donald K. "Deke" Slayton flew B-25s with the 340th Bombardment Group in Europe during World War II. After 56 combat missions he returned to the United States in 1944 as an instructor. In April 1945, he was sent to Okinawa with the 319th Bomb Group and flew seven combat missions over Japan.

Hace 4 días · Director of Flight Crew Operations Deke Slayton selected the first Apollo crew in January 1966, with Grissom as Command Pilot, White as Senior Pilot, and rookie Donn F. Eisele as Pilot. But Eisele dislocated his shoulder twice aboard the KC-135 weightlessness training aircraft, and had to undergo surgery on January 27.
