Hace 3 días · In 1539, following judicial arbitration, the manor was settled on Dorothy for life with remainder to Edward Seymour, earl of Hertford, later duke of Somerset (d. 1552). (fn. 31) After the duke's execution and attainder the manor passed to his son Edward, created earl of Hertford in 1559.

Hace 3 días · The manor descended with Nether Stowey until the attainder of Edward Seymour, duke of Somerset, in 1552 when it was granted to Thomas Dannet. Thomas died in 1569 leaving a son, also Thomas, who in 1584 conveyed the manor to John Walker and his wife Elizabeth.
