Hace 6 días · George Villiers, 2nd Duke of Buckingham, 19th Baron de Ros, KG, PC, FRS (30 January 1628 – 16 April 1687) was an English statesman and poet who exerted considerable political power during the reign of Charles II of England. A Royalist during the English Civil War, in 1651 he joined Charles II's court-in-exile in France.

Hace 3 días · George Villiers, 2nd Duke of Buckingham, was born in 1628 at Wallingford House, and was brought up with the King's children. On the outbreak of the Civil War he joined the King, and, though treated with leniency by the Parliament on account of his youth, again took up arms in 1648.
