9 de may. de 2024 · Gordon Bunshaft (born May 9, 1909, Buffalo, N.Y., U.S.—died Aug. 6, 1990, New York, N.Y.) was an American architect and corecipient (with Oscar Niemeyer) of the prestigious Pritzker Prize in 1988. His design of the Lever House skyscraper in New York City (1952) exerted a strong influence in American architecture.

Gordon Bunshaft was born this day in 1909 in Buffalo—a 40-year veteran and partner of the global architecture firm Skidmore, Owings, and Merrill and one of the leading lights of corporate modernism who designed, among other things, the groundbreaking Lever House in New York.

It is 813 feet (248 m) tall. 28 Liberty Street occupies only about 28 percent of its 2.5-acre (1.0 ha) site. It consists of 60 above-ground stories, a ground-level concourse, and five basement levels.
