22 de may. de 2024 · Durston House, a boys' preparatory school, was founded in 1886 at no. 14 Castlebar Road, under B. C. and R. M. Pearce, sons of Ebenezer Pearce of Great Ealing school. Only day boys were taken after 1892. Durston House retained expanded premises in Castlebar Road in 1978, with 200 boys.

As a result, Thomas left school at the age of 10, after only two years of formal schooling. Despite this lack of formal schooling, Huxley was determined to educate himself.

Hace 2 días · The church at Ealing was in the gift of the bishop of London c. 1127, when he gave the great tithes to Canon Henry for keeping St. Paul's cathedral school. (fn. 1) Later the school was kept by the chancellor of St. Paul's, to whom the bishop appropriated the church in 1308 on condition that he acted as reader of theology at the school.
