23 de may. de 2024 · The German publication with the closest ties to Bach was the Neue Clavier-Ubung of his predecessor as cantor of the St. Thomas School, Johann Kuhnau (1660–1722). Kuhnau’s collection was issued in two installments, in 1689 and 1692, each consisting of seven dance suites. Bach began his own Clavier-Übung series with the Six Partitas, BWV 825–830.

Hace 3 días · Die folgende Kantate zum Pfingstfest »Schmücket das Fest mit Maien« von Johann Kuhnau band noch einmal die Festtage der letzten Zeit enger zusammen. Wie damals in Leipzig üblich, war sie in zwei Teilen vom Wort zum Sonntag und der Lesung unterbrochen.
