Some of the most popular writers I discuss on the show are also some of the genre’s most prolific practitioners, from Agatha Christie with her 66 detective novels to John Dickson Carr’s at least 55, E.C.R. Lorac with over 70, Ngaio Marsh with 33 and so on.

• 30 min. ago. I've read a couple of his novels; one of them, The Burning Court, has significant horror elements. I believe The Crooked Hinge, Castle Skull, Hag's Nook, The Plague Court Murders, and a few others also go into gothic-adjacent territory. He also did a short ghost story called Blind Man's Hood which is worth seeking out.
