Hace 6 días · • Nobel Peace Prize winner Liu Xiaobo (刘晓波) died in police control in July 2017 from liver cancer. Liu had been serving an 11-year sentence since 2009 for his leading role in the “Charter 08” campaign. A university lecturer in 1989, he was jailed for 18 months for taking part in the 1989 movement.

Hace 4 días · 早年活动 [编辑]. 1989年4月15日，因“八六学潮”被迫辞职的前中共中央总书记胡耀邦因病去世，北京及全国高校学生相继举办悼念活动，随后发展成大规模街头抗议运动，当时正在美国哥伦比亚大学作访问学者的刘晓波也随即响应，参与海外中国留学生和访问学者的声援活动。
