6 de may. de 2024 · Pfister’s materials also mention that Nicolas Trigault invited Ivan Vreman to go together to China (Pfister, 1995), but chronologically, the two did not travel together. Trigault first went to the East in 1607, returned to Rome in 1613, and made his second journey to China in April 1618, leading more than 20 missionaries from Lisbon.

11 de may. de 2024 · The founder of the Jesuit mission in China, Matteo Ricci, had sent his colleague Nicolas Trigault back to Europe to search out new missionaries who could share the most advanced scientific ideas with the Chinese. Trigault met Schreck in Rome in 1614, while Schreck was studying theology, and persuaded him to go to China.

Rubens zeichnete nämlich eine handvoll Jesuitenpater der Chinamission, die zusammen mit Nicolas Trigault auf einer Reise durch Europa für ihre Mission warben.
