13 de may. de 2024 · As for their daughter Anna/Annas/Agnes Colquhoun, she appears to have been born a generation later than our Agnes Colquhoun who married Patrick McAusland, Baron of Caldenoch. The former Agnes was born circa 1590, with her father, Sir Humphrey being murdered by MacGregors in an attack on Bannachra Castle in June 1592 when she was still an infant.

In 1797, Patrick Colquhoun was able to persuade the West Indies merchants who operated at the Pool of London on the River Thames to establish a police force at the docks to prevent rampant theft that was causing annual estimated losses of £500,000 worth of cargo in imports alone.

Patrick Colquhoun’s appointment as SLaE ’s vice chair (policy) – which was previously announced in January – was also formally ratified by members.

It was designated Colquhoun Place in honour of Patrick Colquhoun, whose Marine Police were the inspiration behind the dock company's private police force. Figure 149:
