Sir Peter Brian Medawar OM CH CBE FRS (/ ˈ m ɛ d ə w ər /; 28 February 1915 – 2 October 1987) was a British biologist and writer, whose works on graft rejection and the discovery of acquired immune tolerance have been fundamental to the medical practice of tissue and organ transplants.
Biographical. Peter Brian Medawar was born on February 28, 1915, in Rio de Janeiro. He is the son of a business man who is a naturalized British subject, born in the Lebanon. Medawar was educated at Marlborough College, England, where he went in 1928.
