16 de may. de 2024 · The land in Hendred was a member of Sutton in the 12th century, and was probably separated from it when Sutton was given to Reynold de Courtenay (1175–84). Land in Hendred was still returned in Ock Hundred in 1428, (fn. 14) though the rest of the parish has always been in Wantage Hundred.

Hace 2 días · It is bounded on the north-east by Sutton Courtenay, of which it was until the 11th century a chapelry, and on the north-west and north is divided from Drayton by Mill or Ginge Brook, the old 'Lacing.' The area is 1,466 acres, of which 720 acres are arable land, 702 acres are permanent grass, and 32 acres woods and plantations.
