Jones is a celebrated American multi-instrumentalist, songwriter, producer, and arranger, best known for his role as the leader of Booker T. & the M.G.'s, a pivotal soul music group from the 1960s. Booker T. & the M.G.'s served as the house band for Stax Records, a legendary record label in Memphis, Tennessee.
