Anna Halprin (born Hannah Dorothy Schuman; July 13, 1920 – May 24, 2021) was an American choreographer and dancer. She helped redefine dance in postwar America and pioneer the experimental art form known as postmodern dance and referred to herself as a breaker of the rules of modern dance.
Anna Halprin, née Ann Dorothy Schuman le 13 juillet 1920 à Wilmette en Illinois et morte le 24 mai 2021 [1] à Kentfield en Californie [2], est une danseuse et chorégraphe américaine qui a développé une danse extrêmement novatrice dès les années 1950 avec sa compagnie, le Dancers' Workshop.
Le 24 mai 2021, la chorégraphe centenaire Anna Halprin s'éteignait dans sa maison en Californie. Le lendemain, je commémorais sa mort et lui rendais hommage par la danse, en la remerciant d'être devenue un de mes modèles de vie.
Anna Halprin passed away on May 24th, 2021 shortly before she would turn 101 years old. She left behind a legacy of her life that generously contributed to the history of dance and contemporary art.
