  2. No you could easily read all the books completely without any of the short stories at all and then go back. But certain ones are nice to read in order. I think one of the only ones that’s actually needed in order is to read aftermath before you read ghost story personally

  3. I'm pretty certain that if I had picked up book 1 I would not have finished off the series. Did some of the reveals hit not quite as hard because of the order I read the books in? Yup. But it didn't dampen any of my enjoyment of the books any less. I think my reading order was - 8,4,3,2,5,1,6,7 and then I read the rest in order.
