17 de may. de 2024 · In an author’s note on the last page of his new book The Life of Tu Fu, Eliot Weinberger explains that the project came to him when he was cooped up at home in New York City during the Covid-19 pandemic and working his way through the complete poems—approximately 1,400 in all—of the famous Tang Dynasty poet (c. 712–770).

He has occasionally done things that have left me cold, and at least one thing that makes me angry every time I think of it.

I don’t normally read books—the very thought makes me want to take a nap, but this was a book about one of my favorite poets by someone whose observations about the universe always made me want to listen.
