Hace 5 días · EVEN though he has had a prolific career in Hollywood for several decades, Dutch actor Rutger Hauer has never been able to fully replicate the enormous impact he made in 1982’s Blade Runner. He has appeared in a lot of semi-successful films, but one of the best is The Hitcher , a stripped back, nihilistic thriller released back in 1986.
This movie quickly jumped in with both feet, and once it got going, it never let up. It was (mostly) unpredictable and Rutger Hauer is unnerving and a joy to watch eat up every scene. To me, The Hitcher (Jack whatever-his-name-is, which is definitely not his real name. If he even HAS a name!) is closer to a slasher villain than anything.
