I can see that for sure. But I also more mean story wise I would have much preferred to see luke comfort her and tell her it'll be ok and also understanding the family dynamic with Emily, rather than Max almost immediately putting her on the spot with why Rory didn't know about them when Rory was clearly not doing well in general and neither was Lorelai in that moment.
Idk, I watched Gilmore Girls for the first time in 2021 and immediately watched AYITL after the last episode and I was really disappointed. It seemed like they’d just shoehorned Glee (I’m NOT a fan, so that didn’t help) into a reunion and picked really bizarre plot lines to hyper focus on and didn’t give the important ones the attention they need.
