21 de may. de 2024 · A parliamentary force of 1,200 under Lord Brooke camped outside Lichfield on 1 March. On 2 March Brooke entered Lichfield and set up his headquarters in Market Street in the house of the parliamentarian Michael Biddulph of Elmhurst.
Hace 4 días · In 1871 Samuel Keen, Lord Lichfield's tenant at Curborough farm, complained to the council and to Lord Lichfield about damage to stock and pasture and to his family's health. The council covered the course of the brook by the farm, and Lord Lichfield paid for Keen's children to be sent away to school in order to remove them from the unhealthy atmosphere.

Lichfield's importance as a trading centre was enhanced in 1307 when the threeday Whitsun fair was extended to 15 days and an eight-day fair in November was added.
