Paul Muni was one of the rising stars of the 1930s. From Scarface, I Am A Fugitive From A Chain Gang, Black Fury, The Story Of Louis Pasteur, and The Life of Emile Zola... Despite his rather short filmography due to drifting away from Hollywood, the guy was on fire for a certain period of time.

The filmmakers saw an opportunity with the 1983 film to update the story through the lens of modern crime.
24 de may. de 2024 · The title of Kenny’s book is from the thesis-like phrase that hovers both in the 1983 version of the film and the 1932 original “Scarface” starring Paul Muni and directed by Howard Hawks. It was, in fact, a showing of this 1932 film that Al Pacino stumbled into while in Los Angeles that led to the remake.
