Situated in Radcliffe Square, Brasenose is a friendly college at the heart of the University and city. We are able to accommodate undergraduates in single rooms for all years of study at our main site or nearby Frewin complex.
Contents. Brasenose College, Oxford. Brasenose College ( BNC) [4] is one of the constituent colleges of the University of Oxford in the United Kingdom. It began as Brasenose Hall in the 13th century, before being founded as a college in 1509.

Brasenose's graduates study for a wide range of higher degrees across all of the University's academic divisions and collectively form a diverse and international group. The graduate community is highly cosmopolitan with up to 50 nationalities represented at any one time.

The history of Brasenose College, Oxford, stretches back to 1509, when Brasenose College was founded on the site of Brasenose Hall. Its name is believed to derive from the name of a bronze knocker that adorned the hall's door.
Brasenose College has an intimate and cozy feel that is typical of the smaller late medieval colleges. It is clustered around three main quadrangles, none very large. Entrance to the college is from Radcliffe Square, which leads through a stout gate tower into the Old Quadrangle (1509-18).
Brasenose College is one of the colleges of the University of Oxford. The college is on the site of the earlier Brazenose hall. It is not known when Brasenose Hall became Brasenose College. The college uses the year 1509 as the date of its foundation as a college.
