Edmund Holland, 4th Earl of Kent, 5th Baron Holand, KG (6 January 1383 – 15 September 1408) was the Earl of Kent from 1400 to 1408. He was the 106th Knight of the Order of the Garter in 1403. Edmund was born in Brockenhurst, Hampshire, the second son of Thomas Holland, 2nd Earl of Kent and Alice Fitzalan.

Hace 6 días · The Holland family were the children and grandchildren of Joan, Countess of Kent and her first husband Thomas Holland of Upholland in Lancashire. Joan, known as 'the Fair Maid of Kent' was the daughter of Edmund of Woodstock, 1st Earl of Kent and Margaret Wake, 3rd Baroness Wake of Liddell.
This IPM reveals that when Edmund III Holland, earl of Kent died in 1408, he had no legitimate offspring and his heirs were five married sisters and their issue. This is a classic example of a great estate that was permanently divided amongst coheirs.
