William Henry Cavendish-Scott-Bentinck, 4th Duke of Portland, PC (24 June 1768 – 27 March 1854), styled Marquess of Titchfield until 1809, was a British politician who served in various positions in the governments of George Canning and Lord Goderich.

What proved to be a long co-held title, Duke of Portland, was created in 1716 and became extinct in 1990 upon the death of the ninth Duke, at which point the earldom passed to the most senior agnatic (solely male-line) cousin, namely one of the 6th degree. [1] First creation (1633)
William Henry Cavendish-Bentinck (1768-1854), 4th Duke of Portland, was schooled at Ealing, Westminster and Christ Church Oxford, before being sent to complete his education at the Hague. In 1790, as Marquess of Titchfield, he followed his father's path into politics and was elected M.P. for the borough of Petersfield.
