Basil M. Russo (born March 10, 1947) is an American attorney, politician of the Democratic Party, and judge. He was majority leader of the Cleveland City Council. Later he served as a judge of the Cuyahoga County Court of Common Pleas and a judge of the Ohio's Eighth District Court of Appeals.
Basil Russo holds the unique distinction of serving as National President of two of the largest and most influential Italian American organizations in the United States, the Conference of Presidents of Major Italian American Organizations (COPOMIAO.org), and the Italian Sons and Daughters of America (OrderISDA.org).
8 de oct. de 2023 · Basil Russo was formally inducted as a “Knight of the Order of Merit of the Republic of Italy” by the Republic of Italy on Sunday, Oct. 8. The official ceremony took place in Little Italy at Angelo’s Nido Italia, where Russo was presented with the distinguished Cavaliere title.
Cav. Basil M. Russo has served as national president of both the Italian Sons and Daughters of America (ISDA), and its affiliate, ISDA Financial Life, since 2014.
