The syllabus comprises practical classes in acting, instructions in articulation, music classes, physical exercises and theoretical subjects: history of literature, drama and theatre, music and fine arts; furthermore – courses with elements of literature’s theory.
The Theatre Academy in Warsaw, called the State Higher School of Theatre (PWST) until 1996, was founded in 1946. Its first seat was in Łódź and it was moved to Warsaw in 1949.
