Gidget (/ ˈ ɡ ɪ dʒ ɪ t /) is a fictional character created by author Frederick Kohner (based on his teenage daughter, Kathy) in his 1957 novel, Gidget, the Little Girl with Big Ideas. The novel follows the adventures of a teenage girl and her surfing friends on the beach in Malibu .
Gidget: Directed by Paul Wendkos. With Sandra Dee, James Darren, Cliff Robertson, Arthur O'Connell. A young girl discovers surfing and love (in that order) during one transitive summer.
