James Drummond, 2nd Duke of Perth, etc., (c. 1674 – 17 April 1720) was a Scottish nobleman. He held the Peerage created for his father, James Drummond, 4th Earl of Perth, by the exiled Stuart monarchs at St Germain .

19 de may. de 2024 · About this artwork. Drummond joined the 1715 Jacobite Rising against the new Hanoverian dynasty ruling Britain. He commanded the cavalry at the battle of Sherrifmuir. After the defeat, he fled to Paris and died in exile. Drummond is shown here in the guise of a soldier, dressed in full armour.

29 de ago. de 2023 · James, 2nd Duke of Perth (as Marquess Drummond) The 3 rd Duke of Perth did go abroad for his education, to the Catholic Scots College in Douai, but settled back in Scotland by the 1730s (and in some sources was indeed known there at least unofficially as a duke).
