Henry Clifford, 5th Earl of Cumberland (28 February 1592 – 11 December 1643) was an English landowner and politician who sat in the House of Commons between 1614 and 1622. He was created a baron in 1628 and succeeded to the title Earl of Cumberland in 1641.
The title of Earl of Cumberland was created in the Peerage of England in 1525 for the 11th Baron de Clifford. It became extinct in 1643. The dukedom of Cumberland was created the following year. The subsidiary title of the first three earls was Baron de Clifford. The last earl was created Baron Clifford before he became earl, in 1628.

Henry Clifford, 5th Earl of Cumberland (1592-1643) Henry Clifford was born at Londesborough in the East Riding of Yorkshire. As a son of Francis Clifford, 4th Earl of Cumberland, he was educated at Oxford and in 1607 became the joint Lord Lieutenant of Cumberland, Northumberland and Westmorland.
