Lady Agnes Stewart (1480-1557) was a Scottish noble, a cousin of King James IV of Scotland. She was born the illegitimate [1] daughter of James Stewart, 1st Earl of Buchan and Margaret Murray. [1] On 31 October 1552 she was legitimized under the Great Seal of Scotland.

In an arduous trek across America in 1853, Agnes Stewart kept a journal that survives in different forms and versions to this day. At the end of the journey, she and her family passed through what is now modern day Oakridge near the Middle Fork of the Willamette River.

Agnes Stewart, Countess of Bothwell bastard, natural daughter of the deceased James, Earl of Buchan, obtained letters of legitimation from Queen Mary on 31 October 1552. She died in the month of February 1557.
