Ricardo was educated at Trinity College, Cambridge. He was first elected Whig MP for Worcester at the 1847 general election,and, becoming a Liberal in 1859, he held the seat until 1865, when he stood down.
In his 1830 book Rural Rides, William Cobbett reports being frightened by a life-sized cross atop the porter's lodge at "Osmond Ricardo's" estate at "Broomsborough" (i.e. Bromsberrow), Worcestershire, on Monday 24 September 1826.

18 de oct. de 2023 · El gobierno de Nicaragua anunció el miércoles que liberó de la cárcel a 12 sacerdotes católicos que estaban detenidos y los envió a Roma, tras un acuerdo establecido con la Santa Sede, según se indicó en un comunicado oficial.
El cura Osman José Amador Guillén, de 36 años, fue detenido dentro de la catedral luego que pidiera rezar por monseñor Rolando Álvarez, obispo de la diócesis de Matagalpa, preso desde 2022.
