Roger de Lacy is buried in Stanlow Abbey.

  6. Walter de Lacy, the first Baron de Lacy, was born c.1042 in France at Lacie, now called Lassy, where he and his brother Ilbert shared a Norman estate which they held as men of the bishop of Bayeux. The brothers both accompanied William the Conqueror in the invasion of England in 1066.
