Solomonia Yuryevna Saburova (Russian: Соломония Юрьевна Сабурова; c. 1490 – 18 December 1542) was the grand princess of Moscow as the wife of Vasili III of Russia. She was canonized by the Russian Orthodox Church as Saint Sofia of Suzdal .

Solomonia Saburova. Born: circa 1490. Died: 1542, Suzdal. Solomonia Saburova was the daughter of a nobleman called Yury Saburov, who was descended from the Tatar khans who founded the Ipatiev Monastery in Kostroma in the early fourteenth century.

In 1525, Vasili III resolved to divorce his infertile wife, Solomoniya Saburova, and marry Elena. According to the chronicles, he chose Elena "because of the beauty of her face and her young age." [3] Despite strong opposition from the Russian Orthodox Church , the divorce was effected. [4]
