Lord James Beauclerk (c. 1709 – 20 October 1787) was an Anglican clergyman who served as the Bishop of Hereford from 1746 to 1787. Education [ edit ] He was the eighth son of Charles Beauclerk, 1st Duke of St Albans and Lady Diana de Vere . [1]

He was born on 6th April 1696 and succeeded his father Charles as Duke. He was governor of Windsor Castle, Lord Warden of the Forests, and Master Falconer of England among other offices.
James Beauclerk. On Christmas Day 1671, Nell gave birth to her second son with King Charles, who was christened James, after the Duke of York. Like his brother, he remained without a surname until December 1676, and was called Master James for the first five years of his life.

The Duke of St Albans was himself the eldest of two illegitimate sons born to King Charles II and Eleanor (or Nell, as she is better known) Gwyn.
