The old cantonal school of Aarau (in German: AKSA, Alte Kantonsschule Aarau or Alte Kanti) was founded in 1802 and is the oldest non-church secondary school in Switzerland . History. In 2013, a team from the South Korean television station KBS came to Aarau, Switzerland, in order to investigate why the young Albert Einstein graduated successfully from the Aargau Cantonal School, but quit the Munich Luitpold-Gymnasium without a diploma.

In 1802 the Canton School was established; it was the first non-parochial high school in Switzerland. It developed a good reputation, and was home to Nobel Prize winners Albert Einstein , Paul Karrer , and Werner Arber , as well as several Swiss politicians and authors.
