Johann Ludwig Reichsgraf von Wallmoden-Gimborn (22 April 1736 in Hanover – 10 October 1811 in Hanover) was a German lieutenant-general and art collector. Early life. Wallmoden was an illegitimate son of George II of Great Britain by his mistress Amalie von Wallmoden.

Ludwig von Wallmoden-Gimborn, by Ludwig Angerer, 1860. Born into the House of Wallmoden, he was the second son of Johann Ludwig Reichsgraf von Wallmoden-Gimborn (1736–1811) and his first wife, Charlotte Christiane Auguste Wilhelmine von Wangenheim (1740–1783).

Sein Vater Johann Ludwig Reichsgraf von Wallmoden-Gimborn (1736–1811) war ein unehelicher Sohn Georgs II. August, König von Großbritannien und Irland sowie Kurfürst von Braunschweig-Lüneburg (Kurhannover). Er trat zunächst in hannoversche, 1790 in preußische und 1795 in österreichische Kriegsdienste.
Johann Ludwig von Wallmoden-Gimborn (Illus. 1; cf. Cat. No. H 1 and H 2), an illegitimate son of George II (cf. Cat. No. 23), had the palace built in what is today Georgengarten to house his art collection after its completion in the later 1790s1 (Illus. 2; cf. Cat. No. H 10).
Ein Kunstsammler von europäischem Rang. Der Reichsgraf von Wallmoden-Gimborn gilt als bedeutender Kunstsammler des ausgehenden 18. Jahrhunderts. Johann Wolfgang von Goethe (1749-1832) erwähnte die Sammlung in seinem Roman Die Leiden des jungen Werthers (1774), Christian Gottlob Heyne beschrieb sie in seinen Vorlesungen.
