Théodore Igorevich Strawinsky (Russian: Фёдор Игоревич Стравинский; [1] March 24, 1907 – May 16, 1989) was a Russian-born painter.
Théodore Strawinsky was born on 24th March, 1907 in Saint Petersburg, the first child of the composer Igor Stravinsky and his wife Catherine, née Nossenko. His brother and sisters, Ludmila, Soulima and Milène were all born between 1908 and 1914.
The oeuvre. I tackle my art as a poetical-plastic transposition. Poetry does not stem from the topic, but from the shapes and colours which compose it. From pastel to stained glass windows or from mosaic to oil painting, what matters is to blend poetry with plastic.
Swiss painter of Russian heritage, Théodore Strawinsky (1907-1989), son of the famous composer Igor Stravinsky, was an extremely prolific artist. His work belongs to a dual lineage of Post-Impressionism and Cubism whose essential messages – a new relationship with reality and the autonomy of a work of art – he made his own.

Strawinsky had always been fascinated by the circus. Clowns, musicians, ballerinas and animal tamers often peopled his watercolours, and his illustrations for Le Cirque by Ramuz, published in 1936. His models and contemporaries, including Picasso, Rouault, Vlaminck, Léger and André Lhote, his workshop master, were all fascinated by his imagery.
