W. S. Rzewuski. Wacław Seweryn Rzewuski (15 December 1784 – 14 May 1831) was a Polish explorer, poet, orientalist and horse expert.
W Wiedniu Rzewuski, dzięki syryjskiemu uczonemu (Antun Arida) nauczył się dwóch języków wschodnich: arabskiego i tureckiego. Był inicjatorem wiedeńskiego Towarzystwa Orientalistycznego. Założył i finansował pierwsze w świecie pismo orientalistyczne „Mines d’Orient.
Seweryn Rzewuski (Polish pronunciation: [sɛˈvɛrɨn ʐɛˈvuskʲi]; 13 March 1743 in Podhorce – 11 December 1811 in Vienna) was a Polish nobleman, writer, poet, general of the Royal Army, Field Hetman of the Crown, Voivode of Podolian Voivodeship and one of the leaders of the Targowica Confederation.
Jego ojcem był późniejszy hetman wielki koronny Wacław Rzewuski, matką natomiast Anna z Lubomirskich. Pierwsze nauki pobierał u warszawskich teatynów.
