The Alice Ottley School was an independent all-girls' school in Worcester that existed under this name – referencing its first headmistress – between 1883 and 2007 before it merged with the Worcester Royal Grammar School.

1 de sept. de 2023 · Entry across all year groups swiftly followed, and in 2007 the neighbouring girls-only Alice Ottley School, which had been a landmark within the City for 124 years, merged with RGS Worcester. This also saw the AOS Prep School, Springfield, being absorbed into the family of schools, and at this point, RGS became fully co-educational.
Alice Ottley (23 March 1840 – 18 September 1912) was an English educator and the first head of what came to be called The Alice Ottley School in Worcester. Life. Ottley was born in 1840 at Acton, Suffolk, where her father was the vicar. Her parents were Rev. Lawrence Ottley and Elizabeth Bickersteth Ottley.
The school was founded in 1883 as Worcester High School for Girls, but renamed after its first headmistress in 1914. Its reputation was such that pupils were quite prepared to travel...
In September 2007, the school merged with the neighbouring Alice Ottley School and was briefly known as RGS Worcester and the Alice Ottley School (RGSAO) before reverting to their original name. The school began accepting girls in 2003, prior to the merger.
26 de jun. de 2024 · The Alice Ottley Summer Gathering 2024. The sun was shining and the sky was blue (as were many of the outfits!), as we welcomed back some 100 Alice Ottleians and former staff for the annual alumnae Summer Gathering.
