Frederick William Eugene of Saxe-Hildburghausen (German: Friedrich Wilhelm Eugen von Sachsen-Hildburghausen; 8 October 1730 - 4 December 1795) was a Prince of Saxe-Hildburghausen.
Saxe-Hildburghausen (German: Sachsen-Hildburghausen) was an Ernestine duchy and Imperial Estate of the Holy Roman Empire in the southern side of the present State of Thuringia in Germany. It existed from 1680 to 1826 but its name and borders are currently used by the District of Hildburghausen .
Eugene nació el 8 de octubre de 1730 en Hildburghausen. Era el hijo menor del duque Ernesto Federico II de Sajonia-Hildburghausen y su esposa, la condesa Caroline de Erbach-Fürstenau (1700-1758). Su padrino fue, además de otros príncipes, el príncipe Eugenio de Saboya.

On 15 April 1738, she married Prince Joseph of Saxe-Hildburghausen (1702–87), who was several years her junior, in the presence of the royal family in the Schlosshof in the Marchfeld region, Lower Austria. Her choice of husband proved an unfortunate one, however, and the poorly-matched couple divorced in 1744.
