Henry Clinton, 2nd Earl of Lincoln, KB (1539 – 29 September 1616) was an English peer, styled Baron Clinton from 1572 to 1585. [1] Known for repeated accusations of extortion, abduction and arson, among other things, Henry was likely among the most feared and hated noblemen in England during his time as Earl of Lincoln .

When Sir Henry Clinton 2nd Earl of Lincoln was born in 1540, in Tattershall, Lincolnshire, England, his father, Edward Baron Clinton Clinton IX, was 28 and his mother, Lady Elizabeth FitzGerald, was 15. He married Lady Catherine Hastings on 20 April 1557, in Ickenham, Middlesex, England. They were the parents of at least 2 sons.

When Clinton succeeded as 2nd Earl of Lincoln, he contested the will, claiming that his stepmother had exerted undue influence and had refused him access to his dying father, but the prerogative court of Canterbury confirmed it by sentence.
Henry Fiennes Pelham-Clinton, 2nd Duke of Newcastle-under-Lyne, KG, PC (16 April 1720 – 22 February 1794) was born in London, the second son of the 7th Earl of Lincoln . Life. Henry's father died in 1728, and his brother, the 8th Earl of Lincoln, died in 1730, making Henry the 9th Earl of Lincoln.
