Bāyazīd I (en turco otomano: بايزيد; turco moderno: Yıldırım Bayezid ), llamado Yıldırım («el Rayo»), conocido en Occidente como Bayaceto ( Bursa, 1354- Aksehir, 9 de marzo de 1403) fue un sultán otomano de 1389 a 1402. Se considera como uno de los primeros grandes sultanes del Imperio otomano.

La batalla de Angora o batalla de Ankara fue librada el 20 de julio de 1402 entre Beyazid I (Bayaceto el Rayo), sultán del Imperio otomano, y Tamerlán (Temür), en la llanura de Çubuk, al nornoreste de la ciudad de Ankara, en Anatolia (actual Turquía).

Beyazid I (bāyäzĬd´), 1347–1403, Ottoman sultan (1389–1402), son and successor of Murad I. He besieged Byzantine Emperor Manuel II at Constantinople, then overcame the Turkish rulers in E Anatolia and defeated the army of Sigismund of Hungary (see Sigismund, Holy Roman emperor) at Nikopol.
Bayezid I (often given the epithet Yıldırım, "the Thunderbolt") succeeded to the sultanship upon the assassination of his father Murad during the battle of Kosovo. In a rage over the attack, he ordered all Serbian captives killed; Beyazid became known as Yıldırım, the lightning bolt, for the speed with which his empire expanded.
