Students receive twice the amount of instruction of most ELD programs. Locke is one of a few schools that offers all ELD classes in both the fall and spring. Students receive English language support all throughout their time in high school until they no longer need it.
In 2008, Green Dot Public Schools joined with teachers, parents and the community to transform Alain LeRoy Locke High School, one of the most persistently low-achieving schools in California, and split it into several small, safe, personalized learning academies.
